Happy New Year! I have just caught up with the great news about your MBE. I am so thrilled.
How did I miss it? Every year I trawl through the New Years Honours List in The Times to see if any of my friends have been gonged. I fished Saturday's paper out of the dustbin just now to see the announcement and realize that I was thrown off the scent by your posh middle name 'Sarkodee'. I passed right over it.
I'm so pleased for you Clarence. It is an honour so well deserved. Don't hide it, use it. You have restored my faith in the system!
I hope you are keeping well and looking forward to the New Year with all the challenges and opportunities that it throws at us. I hope to see you again before too long. Keep smiling.

It's amazing how the Lord can turn things to good account - and it's really encouraging after all this time to see how you are coping with the ongoing battles of life.
It is such a long time since we had a house swop with our Newcastle friends and were able to see you personally.
We still keep relatively busy (ie. a lot less than we used to manage) but I enjoy leading a little light orchestra, improvising with the band on Sunday mornings and having a good social life with the Grainger Quartet, which has one other ex BSO - * * * Jozsef Koos, who adds a bit of Hungarian flair to the mix.
Jane continues with her 30 year battle with Rheumatoid Arthritis - O the blessings and blunders of the dear NHS! - but manages to keep going on an extended Open Uni degree course. And we have three grandchildren who are wonderful, esp in moderate doses.

We've just heard from some SA friends about yourself and your amazing story. We are volunteer presenters on Community Christian Radio, HOPE FM, in Bournemouth and have a weekly show, 'Fulfilled Lives' with a focus on disability.
We'd like to ask you if you would be able to speak on air one Monday evening, 7-8pm, and share your journey of faith and some of the ways God has brought you through the 'storm'. We intersperse the interview with Christian songs and hope you can join us on the phone one evening soon. Any Monday from Dec 12th is free! Thanks.

I will always remember the concert in your honour at Boscombe, some years ago now, when our eldest son Phil played in your band for the first time. It was a truly wonderful evening - and all because of you.
